THIS TEXT WAS WRITTEN TO COMPLETE MY EDUCATION AT MINDFUL ACADEMY SOLTERRENO
The first time I realized I wanted to teach people, share my passion, and encourage them to follow their own path was in my early twenties. During university, I slowly understood that sitting in front of a computer all day — even while studying landscape architecture, which sounds very connected to nature — was not my way. I felt the call of the mountains, became a ski instructor, then a sailing coach, and later trained as a snowboard instructor.
After years of intense physical activity, yoga entered my life. At first, simply for stretching — but soon I noticed how deeply it affected my whole being. I began to meditate and eventually encountered mindfulness. And suddenly, everything made sense. No unnecessary rituals, no spiritual decoration — just pure attention to the present moment.
My life started to open in many different ways. Opportunities appeared everywhere. I even struggled to choose among them. I travelled to India for a yoga teacher training, then a month later to Japan as a ski instructor. Living in a small mountain village and travelling for months, I encountered Zen — not as a religion, but as an art of living.
I deepened my meditation practice, searched for communities, and finally joined online mindfulness groups. Then a life-changing experience found me: we travelled across West Africa in a self-built camper bus to raise awareness and funds for SOS Children’s Villages. The journey was as beautiful as it was challenging. Many people left the group, and that was when I realized why I was able to stay. Mindfulness taught me to embrace change, let go of expectations, and accept each moment as it was.
From that point, mindfulness became essential — not just a tool for calming my mind, but a way of survival. I started studying it consciously: reading about the science, psychology, and social impact, and understanding my own life through this lens.
I never imagined I could teach mindfulness. I did not feel special or enlightened — just a girl from Hungary. Until I met Nelli Krajcsó. On her retreat, I felt the call to teach. I followed her path and applied to Mindful Academy Solterreno. I completed the Palouse MBSR course online and dedicated eight weeks fully to mindfulness practice and study.
In October 2019, I arrived in Solterreno for TT1. I was full of doubts, but deep inside I knew I was in the right place. With time, encouragement from my teachers and peers, I learned to trust myself.
I continued to TT2, even though my life was unstable. Then the pandemic came, and everything collapsed around me. I realized I needed help. Therapy, rest, nature, and mindfulness helped me heal. That period became the greatest learning experience of my life.
Since then, I have continued my training, participated in multiple MBSR, MSC, and trauma-sensitive programs, silent retreats, and community practice groups.
Looking back, that dark period was necessary. It led me back to my path with deeper clarity and compassion.
Recently, a training called Seeds of Connection reminded me again that my way of contributing to society is through teaching mindfulness.
So here I am, writing my reflections on my journey to becoming a mindfulness teacher. After years of learning, healing, and growing, I finally feel ready — with humility, trust, and an open heart.
I look into the future with curiosity and courage, trusting the process.
